This is my first earth resistance area survey .
The outer work of a burgus, which already showed well-preserved structures on aerial photographs by Otto Braasch, served as a test object for this first
earth resistance area survey

The direct comparison with the structures of the known aerial photographs enabled a good assessment of the potential of the "resistivity" method.

The experience of actually "looking into the ground" with the method and thus being able to make archaeological structures visible was overwhelming and provided an incentive both for further measurements and for the search for ways to speed up the measuring process in order to make this simple and inexpensive prospecting method more attractive.
