Monument type
Sherd-scattering of a Villa Rustica
Survey data
Area investigated: 40 m x 40 m + 40 m x 20 m
Resolutions: 4 MP/m2 (a = 0,5 m): 1.200
1 MP/m2 (a = 0,5 m): 1600 m2
Array configuration: twin-probe array
Measuring instruments: Lippmann 4point light MC
Imaging software: SURFER (Golden Software)
Survey period: March 14 and 15, 2012
Fragments of roof tiles and pottery shards indicated possible remains of a Roman settlement to the east of the village.
Due to the steep terrain edge, an 8 m wide strip had to be left out in the southern section of the measuring area.
The southern measuring area and a 10 m wide section of the northern measuring area were recorded on the second day of measurement with a higher resolution (4 MP/m2).
In the northeast corner of the survey, a rectangular, flat compaction indicates the floor area of a building that may continue in a northerly direction. From this area, several lines which can certainly be interpreted as water pipes run down the slope to the southwest and southeast, . The lines running to the southwest merge shortly before reaching a barely recognizable basin-like structure. Below the recessed edge of the terrain, further, weakly pronounced lines as well as a strongly compacted rectangular area of unclear address are visible.
