Comments
In the autumn of 2013, after a Google Earth research, Otto Braasch drew my attention to this negative cropmark near Speyer and asked me to carry out a prospection.

Despite the use of a then current EGNOS-capable GPS device, the measuring area was unfortunately shifted a few meters to the north-west, so that the structure could not be recorded completely.
The recognizable structures of the survey image correspond to those of the aerial photo, but do not allow for more reliable addressing.

Possibly these are foundations of a small chapel, but a fortified gun emplacement from WWII can also not be ruled out.

According to Internet research, there existed a chapel called "DUROS-KIRCHEL", which disappeared in the early 18th century and whose location is given "between Berghausen and Speyer". The ground plan of the probably contemporary (1726) baroque Nikolaus chapel in Nassenfels (Bavaria) coincides surprisingly well in form and dimensions with the available data. However, the information about the location of the chapel remains quite vague.
